Francisco “Pedring” “Frank” Q. Camero, 92 of Pepeekeo died June 11 at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired journeyman automotive and diesel mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and co-owner of AC (Antonio and Camero) Service Station in the old Pepeekeo Mill Camp. He also was a “1946 Sakada,” or plantation recruit, from Ilocos region of the Philippines, a member of Pepeekeo Senior Citizen, Pepeekeo Filipino Association, a eucharistic minister and a member for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
